About us

A consultancy that can build, and an engineering team that asks why

One partner for the strategy and the build — consultancy that defines the outcome, engineering that ships it, and managed support that keeps it running.

Who we are

Two things that are usually bought separately

Inter Web Services Ltd is a private limited company headquartered at 128 City Road, London. We combine two disciplines that are usually bought separately: engineering teams that design, build, and run custom software, and consultants who make sure that software answers a real commercial question. Engagements span product discovery, custom application development, cloud architecture, data and AI, and the operating-model work needed to adopt any of it.

The separation between advisory and delivery causes most of the waste we are called in to fix. A strategy firm produces a roadmap it will never have to implement; a development agency builds precisely what it was asked for, whether or not that was the right thing to ask for. Both are paid, and the client absorbs the gap between them.

We do both, which means the people who define the outcome are the same people accountable for delivering it. If our recommendation turns out to be wrong, we are still in the room when that becomes apparent — and that changes the quality of the advice we give at the outset.

“We would rather lose a project at the proposal stage than deliver the wrong one. Telling a client their idea is under-specified or over-budget is a short conversation. Discovering it four months in is a much longer one.”

How we are set up

The practical facts

Structure

Private limited company

Inter Web Services Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales, operating from 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX.

Practices

Two disciplines, one team

A software engineering practice and a business consultancy practice that work on the same engagements rather than selling past each other.

Delivery

UK-led, remote-capable

Engagements are led from London and delivered remotely, with on-site workshops where discovery or training genuinely benefits from being in the room.

Contracting

Everything in writing

Work proceeds under a signed statement of work with defined scope, acceptance criteria, and commercial terms. Mutual NDAs are standard before discovery.

Our values

Six things we hold ourselves to

These are operational commitments rather than a poster in the office. Each one has a visible consequence in how engagements are run.

Straight answers

If a request is a bad idea, over-budget, or better solved without software, we say so before taking the work. Losing a project is cheaper for both sides than delivering the wrong one.

Commercial literacy

Every recommendation is framed in terms of cost, risk, and return. Technical elegance that cannot be justified commercially is not a result worth billing for.

Build to be handed over

Code is documented, conventional, and tested so another team could pick it up. Lock-in through obscurity is a business model we have no interest in.

Bad news travels fast

Risks, slippage, and mistakes are surfaced in the next weekly update. Problems raised early are usually solvable; problems disclosed late usually are not.

Adoption is the outcome

A system nobody uses is a failed project regardless of technical quality. Training, change management, and usability are treated as delivery requirements.

Evidence over opinion

We baseline before we change things, then measure afterwards. Where a claim cannot be evidenced, we present it as an expectation rather than a fact.

Why clients choose us

Four commitments, in writing

01

Consultancy and engineering under one roof

Most organisations buy strategy from one firm and delivery from another, then absorb the cost of the gap between them. We do both, so the people who defined the outcome are accountable for shipping it.

02

Discovery before commitment

We do not issue fixed prices for undefined work. A short, paid discovery produces a real specification and a real number, and you are free to take both elsewhere.

03

Senior people on the actual work

The people who scope your project are the people who build it. There is no handoff from a senior pitch team to a junior delivery team after signature.

04

No lock-in by design

You own the code, the cloud accounts, the designs, and the documentation from day one. Our retainers are renewed because they are useful, not because leaving is difficult.

Delivery principles

How this shows up day to day

Discovery before pricing

We will not quote a fixed price for something neither party understands yet. A short paid discovery gives you a real number and a plan you can hold us to.

You own everything

Source code, infrastructure accounts, designs, and documentation are yours from day one. No licence traps, and no dependency on us to keep the lights on.

Fortnightly working software

Progress is demonstrated as software you can use, every two weeks. Status reports are a poor substitute for seeing the thing run.

Plain language, always

Reporting is written to be understood by whoever is accountable for the budget, without a translation layer of jargon in between.

We flag problems early

If a deadline is at risk or an approach is not working, you hear it in the next weekly update — not once it has become unrecoverable.

Handover is part of the work

Documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer are built into delivery, so your team can take over whenever you choose to.

Next step

Want to know whether we are the right fit?

The quickest way to find out is a short call. We will tell you plainly if the work is outside what we do well.
